Wooden Lakshmi Statue

This Lakshmi statue is hand-carved from premium Kadamba wood by traditional artisans in Jaipur. The flowing garments, the jewellery and the lotus motifs are all cut by hand, and the surface is left in a natural polish so the grain of the wood stays visible beneath the detail.

The test of a carved idol is in the small things: whether the folds of cloth fall naturally, whether the jewellery reads as separate pieces rather than a rough texture, whether the face holds a calm expression. Kadamba is chosen for exactly this, its fine grain takes small detail without chipping, which is why the lotus work at this scale is possible at all.
