A Carved Wooden Pot with an Aluminium Katori Inside

A small round pot in seasoned wood, with leaf carving worked all the way around it so there is no plain side. The carving is chiselled by hand, which is why the depth of the leaves differs slightly from one piece to the next.

Set into the top is an aluminium katori. That insert is the practical part of the design, it keeps the flame and the melted wax off the wood, and used tealights lift straight out without any scraping.
