A Jali Nest with a Bird Perched on Top
The holder is shaped as a bird's nest, woven in iron mesh, with a small bird sitting on the rim above it. Inside sits a tealight, a small candle or a traditional diya. The jali work is fine enough that once lit, the shadows it throws are patterned rather than blurred.
There is a loop at the top, so the same piece can hang like a lantern instead of standing on a table. Hung at eye level the light falls outward in every direction, on a table it pools closer.
