Wooden Tray

A Sheet of Embossed Gold and Copper Across the Base

The inside of this tray is not bare wood. A metal sheet in gold and copper tones is laid across the base, worked with an embossed floral pattern that stands up from the surface, so the tray looks finished even when nothing is on it.

At 35 x 27cm it takes a full round of tea for guests rather than a cup or two, which is the difference between a display tray and one that gets used every day.

Rubber at the corners

All four corners underneath are fitted with rubber. It stops the tray sliding on a glass table and, more importantly, keeps the base from scratching a polished dining table or a wooden desk when it is set down heavily.
