Wooden Chess Set

This is a folding wooden chess set where the board is also the box. All 32 pieces sit inside it, the board closes over them, and the whole game carries flat.

The Board Folds Shut Over Its Own Pieces

Nothing is left to keep track of. There is no separate pouch to lose and no rattling bag of pieces, which is the usual failure of a travel chess set. Open it on a train tray table or a hotel desk and the game is ready; close it and everything is back in one flat 20cm square.

Pieces and board

The pieces are turned from fine quality wood and sanded smooth, weighted enough to sit properly on the square rather than sliding about. The board itself is light, so carrying it around adds very little to a bag.
