Light Through Marble, Turned Up or Down as You Like

Marble is the reason this lamp glows the way it does. The stone is thin enough to let light pass through, so the lamp does not throw a beam, it becomes softly lit from within, with the natural veining showing darker where the stone runs thick.

A regulator is built in, which is the part most decorative lamps leave out. Turn it high to read by and low for a dim glow at bedtime, so the same lamp works at both ends of an evening.

The painting

Peacocks and floral work are painted by hand onto the marble in embossed relief, so the pattern stands slightly proud of the surface and catches its own shadow when the lamp is lit.
