Carved From a Single Block, Finished in Natural Polish
The finish here is a natural polish, which keeps the grain and the growth rings of the timber visible instead of covering them. The form comes from the cutting itself, deep grooves in the dhoti and the mukut that catch shadow and give the figure its definition.
Ganeshji is shown in abhaya mudra, the gesture of fearlessness, with a modak in hand. Both are carved into the same unbroken silhouette rather than added on.
A small idol that stays put
The proportions are close to square and the base is solid, so it sits steadily on a narrow shelf, a bedside table, a reception counter or a car dashboard without needing a stand behind it.

Looking after it
Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep it out of direct water. The natural polish holds its warmth over the years and the wood settles into a deeper tone with age.
